$35.00 Gift Certificate to Nifty Nappy Cloth Diaper StoreCLOSED

How many of you use cloth diapers? When my daughter was in diapers I did not know where to look to find them. I tried some Wal-Mart cheapies and I was not impressed. But even with the cheapies I learned that during potty training they were a heaven sent. My daughter could tell that she was wet and she quickly understood what was meant to go in the potty.

I now have an at home day care and I have a little boy that is potty training. With that being said I was excited when I found Vilate and her site http://niftynappy.com/. Vilate was also kind enough to allow me to review some of her wonderful cloth diapers and she is going to give one of my readers a chance to win one!

My Thoughts

I decided to do my review a little different this time. I investigated a few of the concerns people have when purchasing cloth diapers and I thought that in this review I would answer two of the top concerns that people have.

#1. Are cloth diapers really cheaper than disposable?

Most parents purchase a total of 6-8 thousand diapers per child. That is an insane amount of diapers! I took a tally of the prices of most diaper brands and came up with an average of 2-3 thousand dollars per kid for the use of disposable diapers.

Stating the obvious, cloth diapers will last a lot longer than disposables. Making a purchase through niftynappy.com you can spend around $200-$300 and most likely receive all of the diapers you will ever need for your child. Now that is some savings!

#2. Are cloth diapers really healthier for your baby?

Sadly you may have recognized that scientists are finding scary chemicals in our children’s everyday items. Just last week I seen a news story on Pampers Dry Max and the rashes they are causing on children and they have several investigations centered on around them right now. Please understand that I am not meaning to target Pampers in this review. They are just the first company that came to mind. But at least with cloth diapers it is up to you what chemicals are used, such as what laundry detergent you use when washing.

I have used Vilate’s cloth diapers for two weeks now. I am very impressed. She offers fun patterns in many different fabrics. My favorite was quickly the wool. Vilate’s cloth diapers also are breathable and thus are less likely to cause rashes on your little ones. Also not once did the little man wet thru the cloth! Wahoo!
